New here to this board, but I want to thank everyone for the help and information. I have done a two part video review of Revell's latest PT Boat and I thought it might be helpful and interesting . Here are the links ...

Well done and thorough review, thank you Bud. I enjoyed the humor too! I am sorry to see the issues with this kit, you would think these days the parts would have excellent fit and finish. The best thing that could be said is The general shapes are right. Just buy an ample quantity of body filler. You could park a VW in some of those sink holes. Thank you for doing this, now I'm wondering if their 109 kit has all the problems also.

Thanks Jeff and Gerry. I have a question ... did I get it wrong about the torpedoes. Should all the fins be the same?
Thanks again,
Paul

I suspect the guys will come up with a Mk. 13 manual. I completely missed the torpedo orientation on the reveal. Here's some detail on these torpedoes...
Fins. The vertical fins have no directional steering. The horizontal fins have depth planes (not sure what they are really called) Loaded on the boat the vertical fins should be vertical and the horizontal fins horizontal. You have them at 45 degrees which is incorrect. The other thing missing from the kit torpedoes are the stiffeners supporting the fins.
Here's a photo of a war shot. I believe the ring mounts are practice torpedoes. War shots appear as a cast fitting.
The item most missed on drawings and parts are the plates for the exploder. This plate is always on the bottom when loaded and you hardly ever see photos of them. As you can see from this drawing they actually curve up conforming to the rounded warhead. We worked with Italeri and on their parts accessory kit and were able to get the plates correctly molded. They are different than in the main kit.
Luis (a.k.a. Panzers vs Tanks on Shapeways and Holden8702 on Facebook) actually made some nice 3D prints available of the Mk. 13 in 1/72 scale. He seems to have pulled them off his site, concentrating mostly on figures these days. However he is printing them independently from Shapways now. If you contact him he may be able to print one on his personal 3D printer which performs better than the Shapeways offering. He did a SO2 radar for me that I'm very pleased with.
Update - I reached out to Luis. He's not going to ship for a couple of months until international shipping improves. At least that's the plan.

I just can't help myself. I do love that photo though with its clear details and shiny newness. And the lovely smiles on the ladies as they work to help us win the war.
