Hi All,

Hello to all you Corona shut-ins! If we all had Corona, I would have hoped it would be the beer! Not this other type.

It's been a while since I posted on the forum. I finally wrote up 2 new sections in the 'PT-157: A Scale Model Builder's Notebook' dealing with my adventures in photo etching (hint; worked out great!) to replace details on the PT-157 model AND, secondly, revise the bridge area and forward turret location.

I did these changes 4-years or so ago but after the Skipper Liebenow and torpedoman West passed, I was pretty low for a while. Liebenow was the last of the original 157 crew to go on his final patrol. I attended Lt(jg) Liebenow's full military honors funeral at Arlington Cemetery in DC. That's when it hit me, my two now good friends were gone. But they gave me, with great joy and pride, the details needed to build this model right and I owed to them, and the rest of the crew, that they both cherished, to finish this.

So while we are shut-ins, and I just coincidentally completed these two sections, I thought to share with you something to read to pass the time in your isolation. Download the PDF of the new sections from here:https://drive.google.com/open?id=1aCmU0qtkh8ukreuFighnbnduzO1fp3Xb

DON'T go running out and buying the book from Amazon yet! The newest version with these new sections have not been released by me. I promise to post a notice shortly when I do. Book is up to 247 pages now. Yikes.

P.S. Yes, the forward turret of the PT-157 had a 20mm in the forward turret as did ALL the boats in RON-9. Don't write any responses saying that could not be right...you'll reveal yourself as an 'unlearned' knucklehead if you do. How that was possible is in the other book 'First-Up: Chronicles of the PT-157'

Bridge;
Looks good! I really like the worn deck paint at the helm, very realistic!
Take care,
TED

Nice Bridge, that is real dedication, tearing apart your beautiful model to make corrections. Cheers!

Check out the fine detail work Bridge does, this is a .50 mount rear cover:

The updated book 'PT-157: A Scale Model Builder's Notebook' is now on Amazon:
https://www.amazon.com/PT-157-Scale-Model-Builders-Notebook/dp/0615483232/ref=sr_1_1?dchild=1&keywords=pt-157%3A+a+model+builder%27s+notebook&qid=1586314964&sr=8-1

They are selling it for $40.76...which is $8.00 less than they told me it would be. Maybe it is an special period sale (it is April 7, 2020 as I write this). The web page above also has a 'look inside' feature to look at the early sections of the book.
