The way my hand shakes I could whip this out in no time! Guess I should work on a plane until Italeri gets the new Higgins PT out.
Thanks!

Hah it would be much harder to match that paint job than it would if it were "perfect"!
That cow may not be able to talk but you can see the "wth" just fine.

That's what my dad was doing on June 3-4 to their C-47s, Waco and Horsa gliders. He said, their stripes didn't look anything like the stripes on the models I built!

That's interesting, in my mind I pictured careful layout and masking when they painted aircraft. There probably wasn't time for that.

From photos and film footage of the painting of the D-Day "Invasion Stripes" on Allied aircraft, some were masked (tape), some were chalked, and some were free-hand.
Apparently, some of the stripes were still wet on June 5th, as the famous Mohawk-haircut and warpainted paratroopers of the "Filthy 13" (demolitionists/saboteurs in HQ Co., 506th Parachute Infantry Regiment of the 101st Airborne Division) daubed their fingers in the black and white paint of the invasion stripes on their C-47 aircraft fuselages to use for their war paint.

That's an interesting bit of history, thanks Drew. And happy Saint Patrick's Day everyone, I'm sitting in front of a plate of corned beef and cabbage mmm!
