I'm pretty sure this photo is of the 196 based on the particularly well done shark mouth. Does anyone know where and / or when this was taken and who rmh is? Thanks for any help and if you have a better copy I'd appreciate if you e-mailed it to me:

Jeff;
PT 196 alongside what looks like USS Cyrene (AGP-13), possibly San Pedro Bay January 1945 or later in Leyte Gulf. Cyrene and her sister-ship Acontius were both camouflaged in Measure 31 Design 12F. Photo evidence shows Cyrene was later repainted gray sometime after arriving in the Phillipines.
Acontius remained in Camouflage accompanied RON 31, 32, and 37 to Okinawa June-December 1945.
Take care,
TED

Thanks Ted. I remember a discussion about whether or not the 196 went to the Pacific still in this paint scheme and I'm trying to find out. I think "rmh" might be the Robert Hurst that has contributed many PT photos to Navsource.
