Really lovely model Tom ! I saw pics of your model quite a few years ago but back then I hadn't started on my own Vosper model yet and I now see some details I han't noticed before. One of these details is the special locker on the starboard side of the chart house. Did all Dutch Vospers have this locker or was it unique to the "Valk" ?
By the way, Tom scratch built all the parts not contained in the Italeri kit such as the flare launchers. Nowadays things are much easier in that many 3d parts are available at Shapeways.
I wonder what material you used for the flag. I think the flag decals usually supplied by Italeri are quite useless. For my PT 596 model I made a colour copy of the Italeri decal on normal paper. This has worked rather well but the printer ink has faded dramatically over the years.
Regards,
Arjan

Some time ago I happened across this American WWII ad. I think it's my all- time favorite one :

Hi Arjan,
The dutch boats are not well documented in photo's.
At least not in the setup I build the Valk in.
So I'm not sure ,but it is possible that they where al update the same.
The flag is a very thin rolled piece of lead foil that I painted.
So doing that for the American flag would be a bit of a task.
The 3D printing is very nice ,but it takes away some of the fun in building .
I real like to scratch build as much as possible.
cheers, Tom
