Hi ,
in my search for images of the 518 I found this one :

The layout for the guns looks spot on ,it's just a bit light coloured.
Any one knows more about this photo?
It's in the squadron signal In Action by David Doyle.
Hope that someone can give an answer.

cheers, Tom

Hi Tom, this might well be PT 520. This boat also had the two ammo boxes on the foredeck mounted parallel to each other and these boxes were also painted in a light colour.

Regards,

Arjan

Hi Arjan,

That's the point I still don't know how the 518 had it's ready boxes arranged on the fore deck.
Maybe it had the same setup as 520 or not, hope to find out.

cheers, Tom

Tom and Arjan;
That can be 513,516,517,519, 520 as the same set up is shown. You must remember these RON 35 photos were taken over the time RON 35 was in England. Around June 6, most boats had the 20MM forward. The 2 37MM set up is after June, Probably Sept-Dec 1944. The photos I posted show 2 ammo boxes and 2 37MM's on these boats. This also follows the RON 35 documentation I have.
Take care,
TED

I don't know if you've seen this shot of the 518 and it's not the foredeck but posted in case you haven't:

Jeff;
This is a crop photo right? Notice covered 37MM to port forward.
Take care,
