Sorry top post twice on your board in one day but I'm doing research on what I believe were the last 4 PT boats made - all from aluminum I believe (PT808,809,810,111...?)
While doing a Google search for "Aluminum PT Boat" I found the following boat listing. Maybe you folks have already seen it but I'm confused.
This says that its a 1938 aluminum PT boat #8.
Any guidance/insight would be helpful...

PT-8 was indeed an aluminum boat, constructed on spec when the USN was just beginning their quest to secure a fast torpedo boat of somekind. The book AT CLOSE QUARTERS (among many others) has a history of this development phase...
FYI - The four postwar metal boats were PTs 809, 810, 811 & 812.
