Hi Jeff,
You'r sure right on the higher number boats.
But on those that have the step to the turret moved to under the side window it seems there is a door of some-kind .
Here is a photo from Lamberts book of the 547 and there is also something there.
So I think I'll put it parts are already made.
The deck dead lights I think I'll pass on them like the deck / hull shape.
thanks for the extra info always handy to have around.
cheers, Tom

Tom, if I interpret Jeff's response correctly he confirms there was an opening (locker door) on the Channel PT boats. Thanks for the info Jeff !

Arjan

Yep Arjan, as far as I can tell only PTs 565-624 lacked the locker. Here's a shot of PT 530 that shows it:

Tom, you may have missed my post on the bottom of page 3. And you're very welcome Arjan!
PT 505 showing another little bit at the base of the turret, it was for the throttle pushrod deck housing and found on PT 372 on:
In case anyone wants to model it, drawing is again courtesy of Dick Washichek:

Aha ,
Some language problem on my side.
Thanks Jeff the first photo is the one that shows it clearly.
The other sare somewhat vague.
There seems to be some extre deflector on the cockpit front ,any idea if there are other boats with that?
Cheers, Tom

Looks like the wind screen on PT 505 :
Very useful pic Jeff, thanks again. By the way, my Shapeways parts arrived today and your running lights are perfect for fitting leds.

Cool Arjan, what will you do for the lens? The SW plastic is somewhat clear and maybe porous, I've wondered about how clear it can be made by putting it in a vaccuum chamber with clear resin.
Are you talking about PT 530 Tom? If so I had this shot that shows a bit more detail:

I will use the lenses as supplied by Shapeways. For running lights it's not that important to have perfectly clear lenses, transluscent is good enough. Ideally I would like to use a drop of cyanoacrylate to reinforce and seal the printing material but I will try this out on a piece of scrap material first.
