Looking good Tom, I also like the accessory set and particularly the life vests. I have also made a search light mount today. I also have the PT 109 kit so I can more or less copy parts such as the search light mount, the navigation lights and the grab rails. In fact it would be a simple matter for Italeri to release a 1/35 PT Channel version, they would only have to design a couple of new parts.and make some minor changes to others.

Here we are again .
After reading Arjan's post took off a part that I already made and start changing the windows of the radioroom.
Took off all the raised parts and now I'll have to cut the hole lower and make a new surround on both sides.
So that is an other evening or two .
cheers,
Tom

Hi Tom, I like the vents you've built. It certainly makes my building efforts easier to get a rough idea of its shape and dimensions. I might buy the 3d airfoil wind deflector and Oerlikon magazine cradles from Shapeways, though, because I don't fancy building these myself.

I finished the rebuild of the chartroom windows and some other detail that came with it.
I also took the wrong "electric lines "of the dayroom top.
Ready for the next bit.
Cheers, Tom

Nice work Tom ! I doubt if you would have had the courage to overhaul your model like this if it hadn't dropped from its shelf. So perhaps this accident was a blessing in disguise after all (a good disguise ).

Hi ,
Is the ammo locker in the chartroom starboard side in the 103 also in the later boat but then in front of the turret

Like to know before I put the torpedo finely to the deck .

There is definitely a rectangular object just ahead of the front turret that might be a locker door :

Dicks Elco 80 DVD has 3 drawings for the chart house on later boats, this is what they show. For some reason PTs 522-545 show up on 2 of them:
372-383, 486-563 - yes
522-545, 731-760 - yes
565-624 - no
From the PT 522-545 and 731-760 drawing, it shows a 30 inch x 16 3/8 inch opening right above the coaming. The coaming was 6 inches tall minus the thickness of the top layer of planking or the plywood deck:
Italeri threw in an extra deck light on the starboard side of the chart house, very minor but it should be an easy fix if you are a fellow A type. Here's a drawing showing their layout:
