Good Morning Ladies and Gents,
I would like to thank Dick for accepting me to this PT Forum. I have recently acquired a 1/10 scale fiberglass PT boat with all the accessories. I also got a box of books, videos, and scaled schematics. I am a retired Navy Fighter Pilot and currently fly for the Airlines. I will be building a website for this build and hopefully get it finished by the end of next year. Obviously I will be building a particular PT... just haven't decided yet.
Cheers,
Chili
P.S. It will be a 3 engine R/C. Gas/Electric? |

Welcome to the forum PT NUTS. I am also a builder of RC PT's and noticed you were undecided between gas or electric power for your large build. I strongly suggest you do some research on brushless electric motors and LIPO batteries for your project.
The power available from these combinations would be more than sufficient to insure long run time, scale plus speed and planeing ability, and quiet operation. Many boating lake and ponds have strict rules regarding the operation of gas powered models.
Looking forward to your progress.

Welcome Chili! An 8 foot PT model eh, that promises to be an impressive build!
As much as I'd like to see it powered by 3 gas engines, will you be able to mount them with enough cushion to keep them from shaking parts loose?

Hello and welcome,
I am a modeler also. I've found a ton of info from the folks here. If they can't help you, they will tell where you can find it. Love the PTs and the folk here. If I can be of any service, let me know. Happy building and enjoy the Finest Group I know.
