hi guys !
just wanted to let PT boaters know , Kingston, N.Y. has a historic roundout water front district (an inlet to the Hudson River 90 miles north of NYC) just this past week end , Robert Iannucci, water front developer/ entrepreneur has put together 3 replica PT BOATS , they are labeled the PT 728, is running it has 2 detroit diesel engines.PT 615, ( in the process of being built , the hull - wood with fiberglass over it , is there with work being done tied to the dock. ) the 3rd PT boat has yet to be completed he calls it "Fleet Obsolete". I did take the inaugural ride this past Sunday( Sept 29th). Although not the "real Mccoy" they it is nice to see PT boats on the Hudson River ! Made my heart pump a bit!
I am sending PT Boats, Inc. the newspaper clipping .
the web site to the Kingston Freeman is
www.midhudsoncentral.com I'm not sure if the picture is on line ,
or call the paper at (845) 331- 5000 . main number
all the best

Bob & Diane, Saw your post & wondered if they would consider naming the last boat PT-486 ?
This boat was one of 7 boats, that left Melville on a Bond Drive in the Fall of 1945 & went up the Hudson River & through the Erie Canal, if my geography is correct.
Hq can verify the info. & I have some photo's of the event if you need some. Tom

BTW Bob & Diane, The original PT-486 is still afloat & kicking in Wildwood NJ.. She is under private ownership & the owner is reconverting her back to her Navy Configuration. After the war she was sold & converted to a Sightseeing Boat called the Big Blue Sightseerer.

Hello Diane & Bob
Is it possible that there is a 63 foot Avaition Rescue Boat there?
I'm researching for a history about the Kearny Sea Scouts and we had one from 1970 till 1993. I'm told it ended up in thr Roudout area.
Thanks for your help,
Glenn
