Greetings,
I just received a message from Freetime hobbies. They are taking preorder's on this kit now. Delivered price to me was $28.91. Here's Brandon's web site. He's apparently selling out quickly!

Ordered mine from Free Time today, at the reasonable price of $19.95.

Least expensive shipping for me is $7.50, for a total of $27.45.

Here's a shot of the Eduard PE set that should be out at the beginning of May:

Plus a flag:

The instruction sheet can be found here: https://www.hannants.co.uk/product/ED53215. It looks like they made good use of my web site. A decal for the bridge control panel is a nice addition. A sad omission is the poor little stbd forward day cabin window frame that never gets respect. It is the same as those found on the front of the chart house. They should have added 1 more piece 30. They did not include grab rails for the turrets but the rest look accurate.

Here's a few things to consider when specifically building the 109:
The flag locker didn't appear until PT 187 (as far as I can tell)
No stbd armor plate searchlight bracket visible in the "JFK in the cockpit" series of photos, as well as no aft armor plate searchlight stanchion
Day cabin roof hatch was hinged inboard until somewhere between PT 127-131

Overall this looks like a nice set of details to dress up the kit.

Thanks for finding and posting that Jeff! Eduard doesn't even have this on their web site yet.

There are a few head scratchers. I was really surprised they didn't include the toe/foot rail. And you're right about using your web site. My favorite might be part 27 which I think they took from your site as the rope around the life preserver? I think they thought that was some sort of framework? Also not sure why they want the modeler to scrape off the trim on the forward side of the day cabin and replace it with part 39.

I'm also curious why they didn't do something with the turrets and the .50's. I sent them a suggestion about this so we'll see if they follow through.

Overall a good effort and should help dress up the boat nicely.

Thanks again for sharing Jeff!

You're welcome Dave! I didn't notice the life preserver rope being shown as mounted to the bridge bulkhead, hopefully it is sized to go in the right spot. Although some thread might be better so it can hang more naturally.

Hi gents, did anybody notice that the revell kit depicts the engine hatch with a notch to clear the rear turret instead of being just the opposite,i.e. the rear turret should have a cutout to clear the engine hatch

Nice looking set, I will purchase it and hope I find time to do a build. Between this set, the White Ensign and Jeff’s now famous set of toe rails, this will be a fun build. So ... what is part 39? I do not see it in the instructions.
