Some detail photos of a Torpedo Director Mark 31 along with photos of some other types used on PT's. Text on the Mark 31 rod states FOR USE WITH TORPEDOES MK8 3C&D.
The below director image and its use can be found here: https://archive.hnsa.org/doc/pt/doctrine/part4.htm
The above director on a PT, I don't know what the device is to the right of it:
Another device that I don't know the use of:

Thanks Jeff, excellent reference as usual. Any chance to have a hint on the size of this director?
Greetings.

The gentleman selling it mentioned that it is 13.5 inches overall when straight. Also over 8 pounds! Construction is painted or blackened brass. Here's a decent size hint from an Elco drawing:

ELCO_Roll_5535-2_72SCAN_00586.pdf is the right half of the drawing and shows the measurement better:
I am really looking forward to seeing your miniature version of this!

Of course it will Stu. I just hope he doesn't have problems getting TNT for the warheads. Here in the colonies we can easily pick some up at the local hardware store.

Challenged by forum members and inspired by Jürgen Eichardt -see his Fletcher class build in 1/50 scale
http://www.ship-model-today.de/fotoreport.htm
I decided to build the director mainly in brass, with only a couple of smaller details in polystyrene.
The target speed adjusting knobs are a little oversize, will be replaced later on....

What a beautiful little part! Once again excellent work Daniele. You certainly nailed it.
I could spend hours on the Fletcher site you posted a link to and probably will.
