A couple of years ago I purchased a sterling service bracelet with the name Harold Vio Breunig Bryant with USN and his service number on one side and Brisbane October 12, 1944 on the other side. I put it aside to do some research on this WWII Sailor at a later date. I found him listed on USN WWII documents, mainly Report of Changes and Crew Muster Roll. He was received on 1 Sept 1944 by RON 7 from ComMTBRons th Flt.. The Muster Roll Of The Crew for 31 March 1945 shows Motor Torpedo Boat Squadrons, SEVENTH Fleet, Field Torpedo Unit No. TWO. What exactly was Field Torpedo Unit No. TWO? Trying to figure out if he was ever assigned to a particular boat.
Thank you.
PS My Father was a GM2c on board the SC-1040 in the Central Pacific.
