While I'm in the thanking mode, I'd like to thank Dick Washichek for all the hard work he's put into this site. And, although I realize this is not a modeling website, I wanted to add one more photo, the detail of which would not have been possible without the good offices of the many respondents who provided advice, photos, and help: Jerry Gilmartin, Daniele Klay, David Waples, and many others. So, thanks, Gentlemen!
This would be the finished gun on the finished model.
Cheers!

Great work on the guns Bob! They really came out great. Looking at the photo of the soon to be (if not already) finished boat it looks like you've really captured the details. She looks great!

Very nice Bob, and the detail on the torpedo tubes look spot on! Even got the firing wires I see. You must use a microscope as a building aid...

Thanks for the kind words, Gentlemen; much appreciated! Since this is not really a modeling forum I feel I'd have to have Dick's blessing before I post any more photos. They do take up a lot of bandwidth.
Cheers!

Okay, thanks Dick. Here's my version of PT 187. It's not the perfect model, but I'm not sure the perfect model exists. In any event, it simply represents my best research/reading/ListeningToAdvice effort. Any errors are - as they say - completely mine.
Cheers!

Bob;
Awesome!!
The only things I can see wrong, is you have a RON 2 and 3(2) emblem on the base instead of a RON 6 emblem. PT 187, 188 and 189 were transferred to RON 6 on March 10, 1943, then they were later transferred to RON 9 on May 29, 1944(ACQ pg 457). I think that photo of PT 187 is after transfer to RON 6, but still shows RON 12 modifications to the .50 cal turret stops/grab rails.
RON 12 arrived at Morobe in late August 1943(ACQ pg 193).
With this aside you have made a wonderfully detailed model!!! It is Outstanding!!
Take care,
