I am doing research on PT 231 and Edward P Jepsen.
Found a little on Navsource date launch ron 17 etc, and a couple of other places. I have only one close up photo of Jepsen on PT 231. Found one log.

Any other information or photos would be helpfull Thanks

Hi,
Ed was one of PT658 PT Boat Veterans who was responsible for initially locating our boat when it was in private ownership down in Oakland CA. Being a former skipper of a Higgins PT Boat, he knew exactly what it was and called our veterans up in Oregon who came down and began the long process of obtaining the boat and transporting it to Portland for restoration. Ed came up several times from his Bay area home and rode the restored PT658 before his death. The last time he rode the boat just after the Spokane WA PT Boat Reunion, along with Alex and Don Shannon, While on board, we were able to get him to agree that after he took his last patrol we could use his original Higgins PT Boat Helm (steering wheel) with the "suicide knob" on the PT658. Today, the PT231 helm is installed and in use aboard PT658 thanks to Ed Jepson and his wife Karen. We stay in touch with her still and have a special place in our hearts for the man responsible for locating our boat way back in 1991. Contact me if you need some more info. Look on our website for some pics of Ed and the wheel.

Thanks Jerry for the response,

I am looking for more pictures for out exhibit.

The only one I have is the one you mention of Ed at the helm of 231.

I havent been able to find any other pictures of PT 231 on the web. Do you have some? If so I would appreciate it if you could send them to me, give them to Wally, Fred, or Steve Thanks

Hi,
You should talk to Bill Weaver, he went to Karens house and obtained that photo from her. He may have others as well. Wally has Bills number.
