R.I.P. actor Ty Hardin (born Orison Whipple Hungerford, Jr.).
Hardin was a Korean War veteran, a Texas A&M football player under Bear Bryant, the star of the 1958-62 western TV series "Bronco," and most interestingly for us WWII PT boat enthusiasts, played Ensign Leonard "Lenny" Thom, executive officer of PT 109 in the movie "PT 109."

Drew;
In looking at some Bronco clips, I can see why Paramount gave him a contract on the spot. In Bronco he looked ALOT like Jeffery Hunter, only more muscular.
He later starred with Hunter in the 1968 US made movie called "Custer of the West".a very strange movie filmed in Spain that cast English actor Robert Shaw as COL. George Custer. In reality in my opinion, Hunter should have played Custer, and Hardin his younger brother, CAPT Tom Custer. But for some reason, none of Custer's two Brothers are portrayed in the film....Oh Well...Thats Hollywood. He was originally offered Clint Eastwood's role in "A Fistfull of Dollars" and also he was offered "Batman"!
RIP Ty Hardin, you gave us PT Boat guys your best, you brought Lenny Thom to us.
