I haven't heard much lately but there's some buz that this movie is going to be made. Apparently Ansel Elgort will play JFK. It will be interesting to see what comes of all this.

Dave;
Hmmm? It should be "SOS PT 109" or even something more prophetic like "Collision with Destiny".
Oh well I can't wait to see what they do for boats.Lets see if they reach out to us, as you originally suggested. As I originally said, I am game and look forward to the challenge:0)
Thanks for the heads up.
Take care,
TED

The actor cast to play JFK looks about as much like him as Cliff Robertson did -- that is, he looks nothing like him at all.

I too am interested in what they're going to do for PT 103-class 80' Elcos in the film. I can't imagine they'd be anything near as good as the Miami Shipbuilding/Warner Bros. converted crash boats in "PT 109."

Hopefully, they won't be as bad as that weird-looking "PT 728" they used in the 1993 "JFK: Reckless Youth" TV movie.

And...did the WWII surface (or submarine) U.S. Navy even use the word "mayday?"

Remember, this is Hollywood. Not a documentary. :-) I do hope they do the story and the subject matter justice.

I did search on this "movie" and found someone made a review of the planned script (2 years ago). They said they did not like it, that there was too much time for the swimming scenes. Well I guess JFK did spend a lot of time in the water.

Perhaps they will get it right and give credit to the crew of the 59 for rescuing the marines. Would be fitting if at the end of the movie that they would include some footage of the 59 where it now rests. Would be nice it they could set aside some of the proceeds for recovery and restoration of the 59.
