Sort of a sad story. After the war, PT451 was bought and converted to a tour boat. Moored in Brooklyn, she eventually sank on 12/27/91. She was raised and sold to a guy up here in Bangor who wanted her for the two diesels that had been installed. He pulled the diesels and gave the boat to a local artist, who was going to make her a house boat. She was towed downriver to Bucksport (about 20 miles south of Bangor) but eventually abandoned. During the winter, she was pulled upstream by the ice floes and deposited on the shore line about a mile away. Over time she deteriorated and just fell apart while being dismantled for her fastenings., These shots were taken July1, 1992 in Bangor, ME.
