Just a small "thank you" to all those who contribute information to this forum: Dick Washichek, Jeff Davidson, Al Ross (of course), Stu Hurley, and everyone else who have put their time and effort into this - the most successful and informative of all PT boat websites.
Thanks to everyone involved I've finally finished all four torpedo tubes after several months of work. Each has 215 pieces, a lot of work - but a lot of fun. So, hats off to everyone here!
Cheers!

Excellent work Bob! I'm familiar with those tubes and can see all the detail you've added. You really took it to the next level. Thanks for sharing your work. Really looking forward to the next chapter.

Bob,
Beautiful work, almost a shame to paint them.
Best Regards,
Stu.

Hello Bob,
What scale is your PT? The brass tubes look just fine lots of detail!
I looked at blue jacket web site, I couldn't fine the Torpedo tubes or parts listed. Is this part of the PT 109 Kit?
Once again Thanks for posting your build. Can't wait for more photos.

Looks terrific Bob. Reminiscent of the watchmaker's work that went into your John Deere tractor, your Deusenberg, and your Alfa Romeo. Are you by any chance going to build any extra subassemblies---sort of like you did on the Alfa, with the extra engine? If so, this subassembly would be a good candidate, as would a 50 cal turret/gun mount.

Thank you all for the very kind words; much appreciated! Although modelers build in isolation, nobody builds in a vacuum, so forums such as this where you good folks provide historical background, drawings, CAD images, and critiques are so important to modelers like me. Couldn't do it without you!

The kit is 1/48 scale, Bill, and the torpedo tubes come in BlueJacket Ship Crafters' 80' ELCO PT boat kit, not sold separately.
This is what you see in the kit:
This is what several months of fun will produce, x 4:
Cheers!
