Hi all, ever since joining the hull halves (november 15,2015) I left the front starboard side of my hull without deck, because i wanted to detail the interior as I did with the galley. So I added bulkhead 4 and 9 details, the longitudinal bkhd with toilet access(closed) and all the internal structures.
But it looked too empty,so I decided to add etra ammo for the foredeck guns (6x.50,1x37mm). I stacked .50 and 37mm wooden ammo crates to fit between the frames, and added a reload for the quadmount for good effect.

Here a view through the hatchway.

And everything buried forever

I can only hope it is correct,if not I'll have a crewmember in the hatchway hiding everything
Greetings.

It would have been awesome after going through all of this hard work to make this model a cut away, so you could see below decks.

If Daniele runs the R/C model up on some rocks, it might very well become a cut-away!

Seriously though, Daniele, this is really outstanding miniature work. My hat is off to you!

Cheers!

Those .50 tombstone drums look dead on, nice details Daniele! I'm really looking forward to seeing the finished quad.

Looks Legit to me, ready to be passed up the hatch when needed.
Take care,

Frank,Bob,Jeff andTed: thanks for the comments; making a cutaway model would imply to fully detail the open compartments, as opposite to replicate only what is visible through the hatches.
Bob, the only water this model will ever come in contact with is that from the waterslide decal for the "nose art" on the chart house, kindly provided by Stuart H..
Jeff, the tombstone mags come straight from trumpeter's kit except for new carrying hadles to let to securing ropes pass through, so not much glory in fitting them...
Ted, tanks for the thumbs up from an expert.
Regards

Daniele,
Great work as usual. Are you going to mount some of the drums on the deck next to the charthouse?
I can't decide how they would have secured them there as no strapping or brackets are visible in photos. I am getting fired up again to finish mine.

Best Regards,
Stu.

Hi Stu, I'm going to have a quadmount reload on the deck also, but I haven't figured out yet where to place and how to secure it . The general display idea is to depict the boat at sea in the act of fishing up a downed pilot( U.S.or japanese) or picking up a scout patrol(australians maybe). So everything on deck will have to be properly secured ....
