One thing I had always wondered about was the standard first aid box used on the boats. I had never seen one before, although I do have two of the life raft medical first aid boxes. Does anyone have a photo of the standard first aid box, and were these kept locked?

Hi Frank,
One of our crew found a box at an antique store labeled "PT Boat First Aid Kit" We have it on display on the boat. I will post pictures of it here for you to look at. I have no idea of the authenticity or the provenance of this item, since like I said it was found in an antique shop.

Jerry and Frank;
It looks legit, I have one from my boat (3rd Gen) in the garage that I brought from Panama. As for Franks question, they are small enough to be anywhere on a PT Boat, If this box was standard, they could have one in the charthouse, one in dayroom(ELCO), Crews quarters, and engineroom.
Take care,
TED

Thanks so much Jerry, as I was not aware as to the size of these boxes or should I say the main first aid box. After seeing this it would make sense, like Ted mentioned that these could be in several different places on the boat.
