From the research I have done, it seems that not very many 77' elco kits exist, and apparently the ones that do seem to be rare to some degree.
Could I convert a revell 80' which has been done before or should I go the route of building a 77 from scratch.
Any ideas guys?

Nick;
Your best bet is Wayne Traxel (ebay) who makes 1/32 and 1/24 fiberglass hull kits,
or Christian in England, who makes 1/72, 1/48, 1/35, hulls at http://www.mtbhulls.co.uk/
Good Luck.
Take care,
TED

Lots of parts available from Shapeways. Pat Matthews (Matthews Model marine), Steve Larsen (Model_Monkey), Luis Holden (HOLDEN8702ND) and others. Pat did some wonderful 3D work not available on his site that you could talk to him about. You could drop a small fortune printing one!

Thanks guys! I'll have to look into these.
It's unfortunate that airfix or another company like that hasn't made a 77 elco kit yet.

We can still wish for a 1/35th scale 77' Elco (preferably a PT 45-68 class 77-footer, with extra parts for a PT 59/60/61 gunboat) from Italeri...

Have offered a 1/24th scale Elco 77'er in Fiberglass since 1992, featuring a fiberglass Hull, Deck, and a choice of early 20-44 and later 45-68 series superstructures. However the increased cost of producing these kits in recent years have made them too costly for modelers even when offering the kits at cost. As of September the kits are no longer produced.

Microglass still offers a 1/32 & 1/10 scale 77'er hull
