Saw a news story on MSN this morning about some islands in the Solomons around Choiseul being covered by rising sea levels. It stated 11 islands have experienced severe erosion and five have been completely covered.
Tried to post a link to the story, but it didn't take.

It's getting time to start thinking about reducing carbon dioxide emissions before a lot of people get the ocean in their basement..
Everyone has his little share in it...

I would suggest you keep highly political subject matter of dubious credulity off of this PT Boat related Forum. From your cited article
For the past 20 years, the Solomon Islands have been a hotspot for sea level rise. Its seas have risen at almost three-times the global average — about 7-10 millimetres per year since 1993. This higher local rate is partly the result of natural climate variability.
Notice the last sentance.
Also another article you may want to read is listed here
http://www.climatedepot.com/2016/03/15/claimed-3-2-millimeters-per-year-sea-level-rise-seriously-challenged-by-recently-published-scientific-papers/
Both of these lead a lot of doubt to the Religious Fervor of Global Warming Alarmist claims.
Just pointing out the facts of the matter, and trying not to jump to conclusions that were designed to make a lot of money for Al Gore.

Isn't the sea self-leveling? How can it rise more there than it is doing elsewhere? It's not like they get a lot of glacier and icecap runoff there.

I recently saw a documentary on the removal of sea sand (for use in construction and cement). Seems like there is a lot of illegal removal of sand from around the islands in this area as well as all over the world.
Removal of sand (by dredging or other methods) off shore is filled in by the sand up slope being washed down by wave action. So the sand/beach slumps down into the dredged out area, causing the islands to "sink" into the ocean. Actually they are being transported away by removing the base of sand from around them.
I have no idea why they titled it this way, but he documentary is very interesting. No flat earth stuff, just all about sand. Take a look for yourself, it's about an hour and 15 minutes long.
