I've been working on the Higgins book and have grouped all the photos of the boats I have into their respective RONs . Now, I'm breaking down each RON into sub-folders by boat. I did RON 15 tonight and am looking for a decent shot of 202, other than the kinda fuzzy shot of her with 210 & 203.

Which boat had Bugs Bunny on the starboard turret?

Did we ever figure out which boat had the checkerboard transom?

Al,

The 210 had the bunny. And I don't think we ever found out which boat had the checkerboard
stern.
I'll look and see if I've got a decent 202 photo.

Al,
As the original source of the checkerboard photo was from Dave Prentice, a crewman on PT204. When I scanned the photo from his scrapbook, the photo was not marked with any identification as to what boat it was. I think when I sent the picture to NAVSOURCE I labeled it as being "from Dave Prentice of the PT204", and he just assumed that was actually PT204. I have no proof of that however. It was an inference made by the NAVSOURCE webmaster. But your guess is as good as mine.
Here is the photo in question

Thanks, Jerry. The bow on shot in the drydock has the caption " The Aggie Maru in dry dock", while the checkerboard shot has the caption " In dry dock, showing her checkerboard stern". AGGIE MARU is the nickname listed for 204 in Knights of the Sea. Both boats have the very light SO dome and the whip antenna to starboard. Do you think the webmaster would have gone to the trouble of looking up a rather obscure fact like the nickname to create the captions or did he have input from Dave? I don't know.

I think AGGIE MARU can be seen (faintly) in the bow shot.

I have this shot in my files and have blown it up. Aggie Mauro can be seen on the starboard side of the hull.

Al,

This is the only photo of the 202 I could find, other than the fuzzy pic of the three boats. On the small original photo, I can clearly see 202 on the starboard
torpedo tube.
