Hi
Have been busy with the build.
Have most of the build complete now. A few smaller items to do when I'm ready for the painting save damaging them. Have made a new mast & finnished the new gun shield around the 40mm Bofor's gun. Have almost completed 1 of the torpedo tubes, as I'm building it I'm using it as the master for the other 3 tubes. Posted a few pic's not much to show at the moment lots of scratch building on the tubes which is taking a long time.
Hopfully have a couple finnished by the end of the week.

Looking great. You should think about making silicon molds of some of your pieces and casting clones in resin.

muddyfields,
How about some more photos of your 174 rebuild...if you've posted new pictures, I can't find them...?
Thanks.

Hi have just added some pic's of the torpedo tubes. They are not completly finnished as can't untill they are fixed to the deck.
Can only fix them to the deck once I've fixed the deck to the hull as the location screws are under the torpedo fixing plates.
Still need to make the adjustment rod for cranking in/out of the tubes.
Fix the wire for the firing mechanisim as well. I have left the front off 1 of the tubes as I want to show this open.
Have just cast the deck vent cowls & am in the process of making them.

muddyfields,
The work on the model is coming along nicely. Like Ed's PT 495 build, it is fascinating to see your work as it progresses.
That original forward 40mm shield and bracing sure was an involved thigamajig, wasn't it? Wonder how long the 174 kept all that stuff before going to the simple armor shield?

Hi
Yeh that shield is something else. must of got in the way a hell of a lot, probably why it was changed. Dont know of any other boat having this type of shield.
Have finnished 99% of the build just some minor bits to add once the deck has been screwed down. have posted some pictures of it before giving it a primer coat of grey.
hopefully will do that later today.

Looking great. It will be awsome painted. That shield, especialy the froward, low part sure looks like a great " wave-catcher".
