I'm assuming that the motor yacht finished business back in its hay day had an elco deck config as well?
So far no plans have come to light, therefore I have no idea what this boat would have looked like in 1947.
Also if the boat was ever acquired for restoration, would anybody jump on the fact that one more elco could possibly be restored?
Just curious what you guys would do in this situation.
Due to the lack of 80' Elcos in America, it would make a fine restoration.
The only problem in restoring this particular 80' elco is that it was not built as a pt boat, but either way it is an elco, the same design as famous pt-109, and therefore is significant.
Has anyone discovered original plans for this boat showing its original configuration?

I cant verify but I thought Elco was back in the pleasure boat business after 1945. I would have assumed she would have been one of the cancelled PT's like our ex 761 or a PT from the surplus pool. She looks very much like 761 did in her yacht config.
I have had 2 post WWII Elco's a 48 Deluxe Cruiser and a 40 Express Cruiser. Both had the famous Elco PT Underbody and the bow of the early PT 10 an 20 Class MTB's

I see what you mean jumbo, but according to the site I found it said that she was built in 1947, put on trials, and then put in storage along with her two other sister boats.
It's basically an 80' elco built in rescue boat form.
Then again, another site said date built as 1942, but who knows right?

it is hard to trust the paper trail on some of these boats. 1947 could have been when the owner first titled or documented the boat with the coast guard.
Elco built their last boat in 1949

That's is true, if the 1942 date is true then that means there could possibly be something more interesting about this boat.
Could be an early 103/196 class elco for all we know.
