Stan is working on a huge MTBSTC diorama for a client and good frind of mine. Tow of the boats I have chosen PT-140 and PT-141 have the overall gray color scheme, while at the base. I can't find my chip chart that Al Ross sent to me some time ago. Stan would like the colors so he can paint them. Al, if you read this or anyone else for that matter, please give me the colors. Boats depicted would be mid 1943...........

Depends. If you mean the scheme with light vertical surfaces and dark horizontal surfaces, it's Measure 13 (Haze Gray 5-H and Deck Blue 20-B). Upload a representative photo; it'll be easier to identify.

Interesting you should pick those boats. Jeff Davidson and I were discussing them a couple of days ago. I checked my book, Knights of the Sea, and don't see that these boats were attached to any squadrons. If I could hazard a guess I think these are training boats.
The photo of PT-140 is later than 141. Jeff correctly pointed out that the radar was airbrushed out of the picture. Notice the radar mast rest at the rear of the Day Cabin.
PT-141 looks like an earlier picture and the crew is dressed for cold weather.
Here are pictures of both boats..

These are the exact boats that will be represented at Melville, and funny I picked them out using these two exact photos. So I guess I need the colors for these two boats.

Those two pix show the boats in MS 13. Model Master offers reasonable approximations of these colors. There are two Haze Grays, one of which is labeled "natural". I suspect they meant "neutral" as it is a true gray, not a blue gray. For 1943, you'll want the blue gray.

Frank, did you guys pick up on this feature?
These boats don't have the side spray shields aft of the Day Cabin. They did add this crazy canvas covered spray shield. Not sure exactly how it all works.
When I did the "out of the box" version of the Revell 109 I used what I guess is the same paint scheme. I used White Ensign Models Colour Coats. They're back in production but not sure if these colors are available. I think Al's recommendation for acrylic is a better choice.

Just a couple clarifications. The Model Master paints are enamels, not acrylics. Dave's excellent model is painted in the original s built scheme of Standard Navy Gray (5) hull with Dark Gray (5-D) deck and superstructure.

Come on Frank.
If your going to have 140 and 141, you got to have the good old Question Mark from Ocean City, Maryland.....PT 139!
.
Just have her same time frame as the other two(prior to your favorite camo scheme).
Take care,

There are 5 boats in the diorama. PT-139, 140, 141, 486, and PT-315. PT-139 I think will be the boat in the dry dock. PT-486 will be at the dockside at the pier with crane taking off one of her torpedoes. The other three will be docked at the finger piers. I know these boats were all at Melville at the same time, I just need to get the correct colors to Stan. Thanks all of you for the help on the two gray boats.

As an interesting side note, the 139 and 141 boats were on-screen in THEY WERE EXPENDABLE....
