Will;
Since you opened a new post I will copy my info for CAPT. Allen's son here. I was getting buried in the other thread,

PT 120:
the info I have shows that Bob Allen was skipper of PT 120 during Borneo operation(May 211945). June 2/3 mission up Kretam River. June 9 with PT 149 went in to shoot up Sandakan Harbor. June 13 with PT 318 landed guerrillas on Semporna. On Aug 23/24 1945 mentions dropping off guerrillas on Borneo for intel gathering mission, maybe Alamo Scouts, it only mentions "SRD Representatives"(Special Reconnaissance Detachment). , on Aug 29/30 another mission, and after pick up they dropped SRD off on USS Pokomoke. On Sept1-4 RON 8 moved back to Malamuai Island, Zamboanga( PT Advanced base 3), On Sep 19 they moved to Base 17 Samar. Oct. 25 All boats I RON 8(11) were burned, Oct 28 Decomm.
ACQ's mentions in appendix D, that he was wounded.
That would be nice if Bill Skade's other photos has a photo of him.
Take care,
TED

WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just found this thread and I can see my Dad in one of the photos!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much for posting this!!!!

My DAD wrote a (soft cover) book for my brother and I outlining some of his exploits and thoughts. I also have a two DVD set of him speaking to some Vets prior to his passing.

I am trying to recreate as much as possible his boat. I have the 109 model but am trying to determine the paint scheme (apparenlty the 109 was in green, but I think my Dad's boat was the gray) and also from his comments on the equipping of his boat, the model doesn't have enough guns for the front..

I am proud to say, I have the flag off his boat. he had it framed and I have it now. it means alot to me.

PT 120;
Glad to have posted a photo of your Dad, Ensign Bob Allen. At this time the boat was Navy Green, all the boats in RON 8 were. These photos are Fall-Winter 1944/45.
Take care,
TED

As elsewhere simply drag photo to desk top or right-click mouse and save to computer. Its just like anywhere else. I tested two images by simply dragged them to my desk top and they opened just fine.
