Now, the real photo.

I've never done this before and the photo of the model needed to be from a slightly different angle but it was fun.

Thanks Steve. Please explain the shadow. This is the first one of these i've ever done. I just got the software Thursday. Are you refering to the shadows on deck and that at that angle and intensity, the boat would have been casting a shadow on the water along the starboard side? I really want to learn more and would appreciate any feedback.
Thanks,
Ed

HI ED;
I'M REFERING TO THE STARBOARD SHADOW IN THE WAKE.
YOU HAVE HARD, CRISP SHADOWS ON DECK FROM CLEAR SKY
SUNLIGHT, BUT THE ORIGINAL PHOTO WAS SLIGHTLY OVERCAST. YOU MIGHT TRY TO MASK THE SHADOW IN THE WAKE AND PLAY WITH DARKENING IT SOME WHAT, THEN FUZZING THE EDGES IN THE WHITE WATER. IT'S FUN TO LEARN
A SKILL LIKE THIS. AFTER A WHILE, YOU CAN'T TELL THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE ORIGINAL AND THE MANIPULATED.
PLAY WITH IT AND HAVE A BALL.

In this one I added the flag and crewmen along with adding more ocean above and below the boat to get a 5x7 ratio. I added some shadow to the side of the forward hull to match the shadows from my original model's photo and played with the boat shadow on the water. What do you think?
Ed

This is the photo I started with:

If Will Day was correct, some of the "originals" were shots of PT-337, which was lost to enemy fire in Hansa Bay on March 7, 1944. Only five survived.

Please read the story of PT-337 and my cousin, Bruce Bales, at
