In the ELCO Parts Catalog there are references to various underhull fittings such as the six engine Salt Water Scoops (3 facing forward acting as intakes, 3 facing aft acting as outlets for cooling water) and 1 generator scoop. At least I think there is only one since I can't find any reference to an outlet scoop for the generator and this seems unreasonable. And thanks to Al Ross II who made this pdf catalog available as a download on this site!

Question: Are there any plans/blueprints/drawings of the fittings installed under the hull?

I realize this is somewhat of an esoteric request, but I'm just starting on BlueJacket Ship Crafters' 80' ELCO (Thanks, Al Ross II, for the design of this remarkable kit) and fittings under the hull add a lot to the authenticity of a model.

Cheers!

Hallo Bob, I am currently detailing the lower hull of my 1/16th model. The lower hull has 7 bilge bailers,6 inlets/outlets for the packard engines heat excangers, the aux generator inlet(outlet via the muffler I guess)2 wash basin outlets,2 toilet outlets,2 toilet SW intake scoops;for a grand total of 20 items.
I am getting more gray hair tring to locate precisely those fittings, some of my conclusion are on Jeff's site hull section.
Will post pictures of the proceedings soon, right now I'm working on the packard inlets/outlets 2 done, 4 to go.
Good luck

You'll probably be wanting Dick's Elco DVD. I made a roughly sorted list of the drawings on it that can be seen here: http://www.pt103.com/microfilm/Elco_80_Microfilm_List.txt.

Some discussions on hull fittings:
