Bill;
I read that he painted PT 109(hey he could have told us what the REAL color was!!! Darn!!), and was later on PT 157. That's all. The article writer is lumping him in.
Carl Burton Foster, RM3/C (6113956) enlisted on 8 June 1942, and was received onboard Motor Torpedo Boat Squadron Two on 3 April 1943, which would have put him in the correct time frame for PT 109's repaint in drydock(Apr-May 43).
He was promoted to RM2/C on 1 July 1943. On 18 Oct 1943 he was transferred to Motor Torpedo Boat Squadron Nine. On 2 April 1944 he was promoted to RM1/C. on 12 July 1944 he was transferred back to MTBSTC Melville. Unfortunately, MTBSTC muster rolls are not listed on FOLD3 so this is as far as I can go.
Take care,
TED

He arrived at MTBSTC (via R/S Boston) on Sept 21, 1944 and on Sept 28, was transferred to Navy Training School (Radio Chicago) for a course in pre-radio Material.
But unfortunately, he doesn't show up on the Radio Chicago muster reports.

"Mickey McGuire?"
Guess he meant radioman John E. McGuire, RM/2nd?
