I've noticed there is no indication of engine cooling water intakes or outlets on the Italeri or Merit kits. Can someone please point me to the information? Many thanks.

Hi, you may refer to the free PT documents-the Elco spare parts catalogue-wich contains diagrams regardinng location of salt water intakes & outlets.Note that depending on wich boat you are modelling the location of inlets & outlets may change.
Good luck for your project. ,

Hello. Not sure what your name is?
Go to the " Free PT Documents " Link in the masthead above and navigate down the page to the " Elco Parts Catalog " and download the manual. Inside you will find Diagrams and Part Photos for nearly everything, but specially of the Sea Water and Fresh Water Systems. The diagrams will give you the location of the water scoops and so on. Below is a direct link to that page for your convenience:

The parts catalog was the key to understanding. I was losing my mind looking at the microfilm rolls and trying to figure out what the heck was going on with the cooling system. Although I did find the difference between older boat scoops and newer boat scoops with the 80' Elco's.
And we've discovered toilet vents! Sweet!
Don't worry Jeff, I won't ask you to 3D print those bad boys. :-)

If you really want to build an accurate model, there are 7 bilge bailer outlets,2 toilet discharge outlets, 2 toilet salt water intakes, 2 wash basin outlet covers, the aux. generator salt water intake and the 6 scoops for the packard heat exchangers......and that on the hull bottom, the sides are yet another story!

Thanks Daniele,
I hadn't paid a lot of attention to the hull bottom before. I'm familiar with the vents on the hull sides but until now hadn't paid any attention to the bottom, some of which will be easily seen! I need to think how I'm going to do these in 1/35 scale. :-)
Thanks for your great work. I'm going to follow your build.
