Here are some crew photos of PT220 taken at Mindoro in Feb 1945 (I hope I did it right). My Dad was a gunner's mate on the crew-that's about all I know. He died when I was 5 years old and my Mom never participated in any reunions or the like. If anyone can ID others in the photos, that would be greatly appreciated. Thanks to the folks in the forum who keep their memories alive--we can never repay the debt we owe them.

My Dad is the third from the right in row 2,with his head tilted (every picture I have of him has the same position--makes it easy to pick him ;out)

He's the first from the left in row 1 (same tilted head shot)

He's not in this photo.

Sorry--I just noticed that I reversed the 'headings' on the 2nd and 3rd photos. My Dad isn't in the 2nd photo, and is the first from the left in row 1 on the third.

Thank you Tom, very cool images! Funny about being able to spot your Dad in photos with his head tilt.

Interesting detail I see in the 2nd photo what appears to be a ships bell mounted on top of an antenna just across from the US Flag (Ensign) I am pretty confident it could not be the bell, but I wonder just what it really is? It is about the right size and shape as the real bell since we just went over it in recent posts.Tom do you have any ideas about this? Jerry

Thanks Jeff, maybe Ted knows what it is? or Frank? It kind of looks like a porcelain radio whip insulator? Did you notice the one just like it on the boat next door? It looks identical. Any guesses?

Hi Tom,
Thanks, but I served in the Navy from 1981 to 2003. Retired as a CPO. I am a volunteer on the crew of PT658, a 78ft Higgins in Operating condition located in Portland OR. We have a website www.savetheptboatinc.com if you want to check it out. I started volunteering in restoration at first to listen to our WW2 PT Boaters sea stories.

Tom Wallace,

Great photos. Wow, 20 guys is quite a boatload. I imagine
that since your dad passed when you were five, that you probably wouldn't know the meaning of the chevron-shaped kill marks under the airplane or the meaning of "FTD" under the ship silhouette?
