Well, I'm not afraid to say PT-109. I'll never be a hater! :-)

I finally got up the courage to enter the 109 model in an IPMS contest and I was fortunate enough to win first place in the over 1/350 category and also Best Nautical model. I have to tell you I get more compliments about the base and stand. My PT-115 built out of the box won second place. Now to repeat with the larger boat! :-)

Dave,

Congratulations! I always said your excellent Revell 109 was the closest to what I think she looked like on her final patrol (although I still think those depth charges were closer to the edge of the deck ).

Thanks guys. IPMS contests have nothing to do with historical accuracy. They are all about quality of construction, finish, etc. I honestly didn't think this model would pass muster which is why I've never entered it. The 115 model is actually stronger as a contest build than this one. I will also admit to being too close to the project. :-)

Ted, this is another first place finisher for me in the 1/350 ship category. It's one of the boats your old boss worked off of, the L. Mendel Rivers. In this build she is undergoing trials of the Seal Dry Dock Shelter. I'm sending him the photos tomorrow. Pardon the brief departure from the PT world. :-)

Congratulations David, PTs ruling! Cool trophy, and cool sub model. The water is well done, it has a deep look to it.
