Well finally the third boat has arrived at the What If Reunion. Way to many other projects going on all at the same time but some of us know what's that is like. Sure hope to have the forth boat tied up to the docks as well before the next video project in November. Whew, only 4 more to go !!

Nice Roy! It is going to be great to see the finished product. Can we all come over when it's done?
Take care,
TED

Roy that is a really beautiful layout. Can't believe all the work you have done. However I do not see any Higgins boats. You know they did fight in WW2.

Hi C.J. I'm hoping Italeri will come out with a Higgins and an Elco 77 footer soon. Well maybe not to soon. I will then extend the base 4 feet taking the waterfront to 16 feet giving me some more dock space. Right now after the next 4 boats arrive I will be out of dock space and that is with one being overhauled up on the marine railway. Maybe I can get Bob to send me that Higgins he has been working on for my Exhibit.
LOL

Roy;
If you got room, why not try a floating drydock? There are some nice photos of C.J.'s boat in a floating drydock at Bau Island. Charlie originally made a 1/72nd Floating Drydock and put it in an article in the PT Boater years ago. that I duplicated it and put a 1/72nd scale 77' Elco in mine , It would not be to difficult to "Upscale".
Take care,
TED

Just to give you an idea, here are some photos of my old Tulagi Engine shop diorama from 1992 that was destroyed by my mothers cat, while I was stationed in Panama. The Floating Drydock was built to Charlie's specs, I made it out of balsa and index cards.

That would have been an awesome idea Ted. I was so stuck on the railway that a floating dry dock never entered my mind. I would have to remove the beach area now to make room one.
In the first photo back in the trees there is a dozer clearing things out for 2 quonset huts which will be a machine shop and an engine shop. Just behind the crane will be an open torpedo shop and when all thats done, the crane will move down to the railway helping with an engine swap. After all that, throw in another thatch hut or 2 and I will be able to move onto a stack of warbirds collecting dust.

Have you rebuilt yours ??
