As best I can tell, PT-586 had no horn, but I don't know of it was built without it or the horn was removed to accommodate the life raft. Can anyone say?

dcshoe;
Welcome. If you are using photos in the various Squadron Publications, you will see photos of PT 588, she was identical to PT 586. Now with that said, on the later boats the horn is up against the Starboard side navigation light shield. In the PT 588 photos it is barely visible, so here is a better view of a RON 38 boat.
Here is a photo of PT 574 RON 38
Take care,
TED

Nice pic Ted, thanks for posting it.
They went with an air horn on the 565-624 boats according to Elco drawings:
I wonder why, since it needed a compressor...

Hi Ted, I know this was discussed in the past but I forgot what that cable coming out of the forward window frame was for. Did it have something to do with the rocket launcher ?

Check Model Railroad sources for a horn like that.Looks just like most diesel horns.

Hi Gary, no, I was talking about the photo at the top of this thread. It's that wire running from the lower corner of the window down towards the deck.

Roy;
As per the thread Gary posted: They are drain tubes for the "sight-tite" vents. and in 1/35th scale all you have to do is cut a small gauge piece of wire and super glue it in place.
Take care,
TED
