Engine test at NRE Bellchase LA

We had dynamometer problems ,it would not hold over 930 hp at 1/4 throttle for 30 minute.

The Dyno is the problem, not the engines It was a left hand rotation dyno we have right hand rotation engines . The engines will run up but the water brake would not load more than 930 hp , We were at 930 and barley running boost.

Randy, your post brings to mind 2 questions. If you don't mind.

1- Were all 3 engines right hand rotating? I'd have thought that at least one was a left hand rotating engine. But then thinking has not always been my strong suit.

2 - In general what was done to the Packards to raise HP from 1200 in early configurations to 1500 by wars end? Supercharger added?

Yes all three of the Packards were right hand rotation. The change in the hp was the gear ratio in the supercharger,
