I'm not too sure, although they did use that Manufacturer and they were 12 inches, any thoughts. . .

Is anyone going to take an educated guess as to this light. I know it isn't about the true color of the 109, or actually how many bolts were in the Packard Engine but it is important to me................

Hi Frank,
It does not look like the kind of lights they had on PT Boats to me. Notice there is no Aldis Device shutters to use for Morse code flashing. The shape looks wrong as well. I dont think the Higgins used these exact types of lights, but maybe it was used on a Huckins or an Elco? I wonder how the seller determined it was from a PT Boat? Maybe he is just adding that description to try and raise the going price but does not have any provenance to prove it was on a PT Boat? I am no expert this is just my own personal opinion. I hope I did not offend you.
Jerry

Jerry thank you for at least weighing in on this issue. I heard from Ted who thought it possible to be from an earlier PT ( Elco 77 Footer) but not sure. I sent an E Mail to Al Ross but received no reply...........

I dunno, Frankie. I think I agree with Jerry (including the part about him offending people - lol); even on PV-70 and clear back to PT-3, the lights look to be about twice as deep. This one just doesn't look right. Hopefully Al will know for sure.

Frank;
Yes I now agree with Will, I have been going through 70 and 77 foot ELCO photos and the lights on those boats are deeper than this one is.
Take care,
TED

Hi again Frank,
I was thinking it may be from something more like a 35 foot motor boat (ie a Captains Gig) or something similar. The US Navy as well as the USCG still operates several types of utility boats and the need for various sizes and types of boats will remain for a long time to come! I think it is likely this particular light may have been used on some type of Navy craft, just not a real PT Boat.
