I am trying to identify the Ron 32 boat my uncle Harold served on. I cannot seem to find any crew lists, but I do have several good clues that pretty much narrow it down to three boats.

On June 10, 1944 my uncle "Arrived US Navy Receiving Station, West End Branch, New Orleans".

According to navsource...
PT 474 was completed 9 June 1944, PT 475 was completed 15 June 1944, and PT 476 was completed 16 June 1944. These three boats comprised RON32 Group Able, and I show my uncle sailing to Miami on the same day Group Able sailed to Miami.

My question would be how long did the sailors stay in New Orleans before they were assigned to a boat? If it was PT 474 he would have got there the day after it was completed. If it was PT 475 he would have been there five days and six days if it were PT 476. I am thinking PT 474 might be more likely. Any thoughts?

Thanks to Frank, Andy and Ted for their help so far.

Some of my paperwork from the Base talk about adding another week to the overall operating procedures. This was in 1943, so Shakedown would have been three weeks.

If your uncle is Harold Andrew Wilson, he arrived at RON 32 on June 10, 1944 from the Receiving station, being there for the commissioning. Once with the squadron, he would be assigned to a boat or to the "base force." Only way to find out which boat is to pull the deck logs for the boats in RON 32 at the National Archives.

Your uncle was on PT 475. He listed on the muster report.
