My pleasure Stu, once again thank you for sharing your work and research with us. That quad .50 on the bow is sweet!

Excellent work Stu! I have to say that that quad looks better on the boat than I thought. That's such a nice kit in its own right. Excellent work on those 20mm turret mounts.
I was surprised that they left those tube pivots on the pads but they sure did. You've picked up on lots of great details including the vent covers on the sides of the Chart House.
Did you find something better than the below photo? Seems like those spare .50- magazines for the quads would just sit in angle iron racks or something similar and probably wouldn't need straps to hold them in their place, especially full of ammo.
The only thing I'm not seeing yet are those funky little shades over the Day Cabin windows. Is that on the agenda? How about some brooms next to the engine hatch?
I'm anxious to see the finishing work on this one too. Great subject piece.
Dave

Dave,
Yes, I am intending to fit the shades and the broom rack.
They took off all the tube pad clutter later on and added angle iron racks for 40mm ammo cans aft. It would make sense that they fitted racks for the quad ammo cans or they would be over the side first wave they hit. There could be a rack around them in that photo, but I have others that show no rack. I am thinking about that one.
Best Regards,
Stu.

Nice work Stu. Have you figured out what camo PT 195 carried during this time period, all photos I have don't really show it.
Take care,

Stu;
I read you right up and with the photos I have and info Wayne has shared with me I concur, over-all green. E-mail me I ran something by Wayne, who you know interviewed Bill Diver for his model, I sent this to Wayne and he thinks I am dead on target with it. I too will probably build 195 or 196(Vanderbilt), but after my RON 40 diorama, so I can share this with you, so E-mail me.
Take care,
TED

Hi Andy,
Thanks. I'ts a fun project. I don't know how I am going to tackle the water yet or whether to cut off the hull bottom. I have some good figures to dress the whole thing up.
Best Regards,
Stu.
