Beautiful, beautiful stuff. I am very moved at efforts like this to restore actual boats. Most people have yet to understand how profound the impact of these wooden boats and the iron men who crewed them had on the war was. The day will come when they realise there's more to it than "how many capital ships did they sink?". When that day comes it will be utterly grand for the true students of history to have the chance to see a real one.

Randy, thank you for the updated photos. It is so refreshing to see a group of people that are so dedicated to a project of this magnitude. Soon a glorious day will be here as yet another WWII PT BOAT takes to the water. If only more people could be moved to get one of the Elco Boats in Kingston, NY. for restoration.

Thank you for the images Randy! Those exhaust pipes look like a major project in themselves.

Can't wait to see The Plywood Derby III, 658 vs 305. I'm putting my money on

Hi Jeff,
The 658 has more powerful engines using Packard 5M-2500's developing 1850 hP each and Randys 3 engines are the older 4M-2500 that develop only 1500 hP each, so the PT658 should be the faster boat. Just sayin'
