My condolences to his family. My historical knowledge of World War Two PT Boats aside, since Business Management and Entrepreneurship is the major focus of my College Education, I learned of Earle Palmer Brown's post war contributions to Business Advertising years ago, his firm was a Advertising Giant for 5 decades, He took everything he learned in PT Boats, then took his GI Bill and graduated from Washington and Lee University(as did his RON 6 and RON 8 shipmate Carlton L. Byrd) and applied his experience to creating and leading his own advertising firm, which was know for daring business strategy and getting maximum results for their clients.

I am so glad I "Liberated" this watercolor from a decommissioning command many many years ago. Fair Winds and Following Seas Earle Palmer Brown, Skipper of PT 122 RON 6, RON 8

Fair winds to Earle, my good email friend.

I meet Earle Palmer Brown back in 1995 when he visited my first PT boat site “Knights of the Sea” back at the old free pages of “Geocities”. He emailed me to thank me for creating the site. From that point on we kept in touch as casual email buddies, specially when I want some info or clarification.

During this period he served as President of the Peter Tare group and while there he had the petertare.com website created. From time to time he would snail-mail me stories such as “Along with Cousin Sam, Major J.H. Throsby A.I.F.”, “Out of the Area by E.P.Brown” “The Aleutians” and “An American Hero Remembered” about Lenny Thom, These were real old re-xeroxes of xeroxes, of xeroxed documents. Knowing he desire content for the new website, we (well mainly my wife Mary Ann when she wasn’t busy typesetting) re- typed these in a digital format so he could post them on the groups website. If you haven’t been to the website check it out, there is some interesting reading about: http://www.petertare.org

Below is a photo of the large print he sent to me, of PT 122 that he had commissioned and then printed, he was very proud of it.

All the very best to his family,
Dick . . .

Thanks for pointing out Earle's post war background. I had no idea. It was interesting to take a little time and read about him and his post war accomplishments. All the best to his family.
