Well the 191 finally arrived at the What If reunion PT base. She now joins the 157 and things are starting to look more like a base. There still needs to be some more details added to her but I need to get working on the new camera boat for this falls next PT 623 video. Sorry all, I'm still droneless at this point. As for the base, the 109 will arrive next and might look way different than than what you all have seen. Remember, this is the What If reunion of boats that survived the war and what if the 109 had returned that dark August night in 1943 ! Jack Duncan has giving me a lot of insight as to the changes the 103 under-went during the war and she sure didn't look like the early photos we see of her in Bayonne.

I really must thank Stewart for sharing his expertise in color modulation with me that he used on his amazing 109 and Pat Hutchens for pushing me to try new air-brushing and oil techniques that I used on the 191.

Hi, Roy,
Awesome. Well done. Who makes those figures? They look pretty good. I have some of the new Italeri crew on pre order. I am kitbashing the 109 and 596 kits at the moment to get PT195.

Best Regards,
Stu.

Thanks Jerry. The next photos will be the 109 in a few months. Stewart, I can not wait to see the awesome job you are going to do on your 195. Your artistry / skill in color modulation is simply outstanding never mind your attention to detail. I'm thrilled you are now going to do it again this time in green. I should stop all building until your 195 is finished. As for my crew, they are a kit-bashed mix of MiniArt German Tank Crews and US Artillery Crews by Master Box. These are perfect for a South Pacific PT crew or base personell with some in just shorts, some with just pants and some with T-shirts. With enough kits its endless. I even have some of them working as Seabees running the dozer and clearing the jungle for the machine shop and engine shop.

I have heard nothing about the release date for the 109 crew and sure hope the set will be more than just the 3 pictured. Remember, they supplied the MK13 torpedos with no racks in the last kit. Where did you preorder yours from ?

Roy;
LOL! I have a box of MiniArt German Tank Crew and German Tank crew at work, sitting on the shelf right now! However, I am using a mixture of "guys"., as mine are in Miami, having returned from night ops. So I might not use the two sets mentioned, on this one.
You know, you have a lot of area there, do you have a engine swap scene planned somewhere on your base?
Take care,
TED

Hi Ted, yes, on the very far left of the project is a marine railway where the 157 is resting right now. After all the structures are finished and the Seabees are finished with the crane truck, it will move over to that area and start swapping engines. Don't know where the engines will come from but I found something close in resin. I hate resin. Anyway, still need to do the mess hall, torpedo shop and the the 2 quonset hut shops.

Roy,
Thanks for the kind words. Those figures look great. Jeff Davidson has asked me to send him photos of my 195 build for his PT103 site. Not a whole feature as most of it will be the same as before, but just the new bits. We can eventually put some pics up there next to the 109 build. I have pre-ordered my crew figures from Wonderland models here in the UK. They gave me a release date of early November.

Best Regards,
Stu.

OH MAN Stuart, I had no idea you lived across the pond. I thought you were out here on the west coast someplace. I was thinking how awesome it would be to get together and take some photos of your 103 and 195 when she is done tied to those empty docks at the "Reunion" base. I can't wait to see photos when you get your air-brush loaded up and start to apply your magic. Could you photo each step as you procede.

Roy,
I will photograph the new steps particular to the 195. Most of the detail stuff and corrections are covered in my 109 build. As I have done these before they will go quite quickly. I am scribing in the deck planks this time though. It's all a bit far away yet.

Best Regards,
Stu.
