All;
Here is the photos of the diorama I mentioned in the other post. While we can all spot a few discrepancies here, the subject and presentation here are outstanding. This ranks up there with that outstanding RON 29 Bastia Diorama from last November.
Take care and Enjoy,
TED

P.S. Here is another website that has these photos:

This diorama also gave me a good idea, since I mentioned all our PT Vets, and the fact that they were all in close proximity to one another during the Solomons campaign, and Jack and Earl's e-mail tonight, ....this one is going to be a big one....and $$!
Here goes... A Bau Island Diorama(Like I was building back in the 1980's in 1/72nd scale), but in 1/35th scale, it will show the dock in the lagoon, with 103( Jack checking the torpedoes), 108(with Earl fishing for dinner), 107(John and his buddy Stocky shooting the breeze while prepping the boat for an night OP), 154( Pat and crew taking care of their boat) 157(Bud talking across boats to Ham on 154, having tied up next to 154, as both RON 9 boats just came over from Lever Harbor)( and 242 over in the Drydock (just like the photos, with C.J. and his crew changing the "wheels" and painting). and if used with this type of water presentation, we could even have "Late war" UDT Jack swimming under PT 103 checking the hull!
Well a diorama this size, of course would have to be modular, but, it would take up the rest of Frank's basement:0)

C.J.'s PT 242 on left in a floating drydock with an 80' ELCO in another drydock on the right, Bau Island Rendova. If you look through the drydock on the left, you can see a few more PT's tied up to mooring buoy's out in the channel.

All great ideas, but I think Stan might just kill me, plus the two rooms I have in the finished basement are getting pretty full these days.

Dave;
While Stan's work is fantastic, this work is not from Stan, its from the website I have listed on the bottom of my post.
Take care,

Very nice Ted. I got the impression that Frank had this diorama in his basement. Love the black letters and the fish under the water. I don't recall seeing that done before. Do you have a link to the other diorama from last November you mentioned ?

Ted and Frank,
One question, what is with the orange-yellow Life Jackets?

I hear you Jerry, although I guess this is something that you could find things wrong with, but overall it looks great. No Roy, this one is not on my Basement, still working on having Stan do other things, I have too many ideas and not enough space or money, lol.............
