Since the 109 came up again (oh how I just dread it), I though I would share this Navy Log video created from "Official Navy Records." I'm sure you find the facts amusing. Specially the part where Kennedy is using his binoculars in the pitch back to observe an over flying Japanese bomber, and orders the boats engines to be cut to only one. Keeping the wake down so the aircraft can not identify the wakes glimmer in the pitch black sea from the pitch black sky. He must have been using those top-secrete WWII "Pitch Black Binocular", still classified TOP Secrete today.

Hummmm . . . . . All this time I thought the 109 was Elco boat, boy what a fool I was

Enjoy the video below (Season 3, Episode 6, October 23, 1957):

It sure is interesting to know that Kennedy had been on the Island for Months now, and was on a different boat, all I can do is laugh. Thanks for the film piece Dick, you made my day.

Although I don't "dread" the subject of PT 109, I sure would like to know how it all turned out...they didn't even make it to those "string of islands...close to Ferguson Passage..." in that clip...

Thanks, Dick!
