I was puzzled how do people pack and ship the fragile models. Please advise.

I have had several PT BOAT models shipped to me, some that were wrapped in bubble wrap with all guns and SO radar in another box, so that these items would not break in transit. I had one boat tied into the box with plastic ties, again items like guns, Radar, in another box within the first larger box. All arrived in perfect condition. I have not tried to ship a model myself, for if I did i would bring it to a place that does this type of work.

Victor,

I've shipped several but they were light models. If the model is light, you just need to secure the model with foam in an inner box. The outer box should should be large enough to have a layer of peanuts to help absorb any impacts. As Frank mentioned, it's best to pack delicate parts separately.

If the model is a heavy item with heavy castings, a great deal more care is required. I would recommend using a professional service for shipment. Although others may have some suggestions.

Andy.

I sure like to see a picture of a packed PT model before it was taken out of the box.
