I recently saw a B/W photo of a fire extinguisher mounted behind the port .50 cal turret(Aft, where turret meets the dayroom cabin), Jerry posted it from the Alvin Hansen Collection(see below). I also think another extinguisher was mounted on stbd side cockpit shielding, aft of stbd .50 cal turret. my Question is, Was this a field applied mounting or factory?
Thanks,
Take care,
TED

I checked the drawings Ted, the only one I found was "Lux 7 lb Extinguisher Stowage" for PT 372 and on. The list of locations given (6) are all inside.

I remember a pic Jerry posted of a refueling operation, with a crewman standing by with a fire extinguisher. They will be a great addition to your diorama! I also seem to remember an image of a later boat with one mounted on the inside the bridge wing like you mentioned, but can't really think of any others.

Jeff;
I think that's where I got the idea from of the one mounted on cockpit shielding.
Take care,

Aires do some nice ones in 1/32 which is close to acceptable scale wise I think
Part of their Aerobonus range
Part no is 320 034
The description is WWII CO2 PSH-20 Fire Extinguishers
Resin complete with everything except the hose and have decals too

Speaking of Fire Extinguishers,
Does anybody know where I can obtain 2 or 3 Real Ones? I think they are supposed to be Kidde 5 pound CO2 extinguishers with a hemispheric bottom and a pivoting neck horn. I need them to mount inside the PT658 to gain the realistic look. If you guys could keep an eyeball open for me and if you come across one I would appreciate it.
Here is one in top right corner
Another in top right corner in engine room
Here is one hiding behind the curtain in the wardroom
I would really like to be able to put them in the forward crews quarters and in the Wardroom. Thanks all of you for any assistance you can give us! Jerry
