I have no idea what they are doing there, but the emblem on the bow has me thinking Thailand, AKA; Thai Navy. maybe that is why the cabin is so drastically raised, for open ocean transit/patrol.
Take care,

Hi Ted
They are possibly ex Thai Navy, although the images I have seen of them seem to have the standard height bridge structure. I imagine they are possibly for use combating piracy as so many ex military vessels seem to be employed doing at the moment, possibly to be carried on a larger vessel? All pure conjecture though!

Hi Christain,
I volunteered to restore a Mk-2 PBR, 31RP6893 for the former Kenosha Military Museum from 2001 to 2006. The hull in the UK photo after some lightening up, more resembles a Mk-1 PBR hull ( a United Boat Builders Hull design) with a Mk-2 cabin that appears to have been modified to fit the hull. The piping framework for awning seems a bit higher and differs in appearence for both the Mk-1 & 2 boats.
PBR 31RP6893 on June 30,2005

Ted, Yup, still have all 6 coins. The lower three were discovered in the governor of the stbd. Detroit Diesel and the upper three were found in the port engine governor some months later. Remembering you had served in Panama in SBU-26 and the surprise of learning that the subject of this restoration was a boat you had served on at one time. Just goes to show you how small this world is. Ted's advice, especially in boat handling was invaluable. Too bad it ended as it did.
