Thanks, Ted.

The officer on the right looks like he's supposed to resemble you-know-who.

Doesn't look like there'll be a shirtless, fatigue-capped skipper in that set.

I sure hope there will be more than 3 figures, you can't do much with those when you need more to dress up the boat.

Fortunately, the heads on ensigns have always been interchangeable.

If you go to their Facebook page they have some more art work. In fact they have a 109 diorama and under that the art work for their crew. Looks to be guys doing work on the boat. Swabbing the deck, etc.

David;
What is with these figure manufacturers and guys with buckets, and swabbing the deck?? Do the think this is a Battleship? Why not have a guy scrubbing the teak deck with holystone too!! In 30 years, I have never swabbed the deck as much as these guys like to model it!!I must admit a bucket was very versatile and valued piece of gear(cleaning solvent for weapons, paint, small parts carrier, etc.), however, a broom was usually only used to sweep spent casings overboard.
In all my small craft experiance, we just hosed the deck off. In the case of PT Boats, on some of the Islands, fresh water was sometimes scarce, until a distillation plant was set up, so I can't image them using it to wash the deck.
Here are the photos Dave mentioned, the NEW set is represented on the outside of the display case. As for the diorama, it looks like they used the other set as the guys are in kapoks, and a shirtless figure to represent the guy from Hyannis Port.

C.J. ,Earl ,John, and Pat:
By the way, if you still have a bar of saltwater soap packed away somewhere, this website is selling them for $10! http://www.hayesotoupalik.com/WW2%20U.S.%20Personal%20Items.htm (item number 00575).
Take care,
TED

I suspect there's more to the set. They probably couldn't show the naked guy getting hosed down by his crew mates. :-) Still curious about the "accessories". I'm assuming it's not mops. We'll just have to wait and see what comes.

I certainly hope there’s more too, kind of a weird mix with part of the crew in battle dress and some swabbing the decks. So far I’m underwhelmed. Come on Italeri dazzle us. Almost ready to start building again.

It appears the PT-109 crew that is displayed on the artwork is not in combat gear. They are at rest or doing maintenance. The crew they used in their diorama may be from the original PT Boat crew set they did.

Remember we're only looking at art work so far. Not finished product. Stay tuned!

Ted I had not thought of salt water soap in years. My first experience with salt water soap was on my first trip overseas from S.F. to New Caledonia aboard a Dutch Freighter flying the Dutch Flag. The trip last 31 days, unescourted the whole way. Served two meals a day. The old ship only had salt water showers. The only fresh water was to drink. They issued each of us a bar of that light yellow salt water soap. It looked like what my Mom used to make on the farm out of lye and hog tallow. I get in the shower to shampoo my hair and lather up. Well salt water soap doesn't lather it just mats up like grease. I got that stuff in my hair and was a week or more getting it out. Lesson learned--Salt water soap is only good for washing clothes with a scrub brush. Sure not good for bathing.
